You can apply to come to the UK as a visitor with your employer if you are a domestic worker in a private household. You must have worked for your employer in a private household, be residing outside the European Economic Area and Switzerland and meet other eligibility requirements.

Domestic workers include the following: cleaners, chauffeurs, cooks, those providing personal care for the employer and their family and nannies.

If your application is successful you will be allowed to come to the UK with your employer for up to 6 months. You must then return home at the end of the 6 months or when your employer returns home.

There are other eligibility requirements which must be met in order to enter the UK under this category. You must be aged 18 years or older. You must have worked for your employer for at least 1 year in the same household as your employer or one they use regularly. You must travel to the UK with your employer, their partner or children and must intend to work as a full-time domestic worker in a UK household your employer will live in.

Time scale:

Upon receiving instructions, we will provide you with an initial list of documents. Thereafter, we shall provide a comprehensive list of documents tailored to your individual circumstances. If your matter is urgent it will be dealt with as a priority. As soon as we have received the requested information and supporting documents and we have reviewed your matter, we shall prepare and submit your application with the relevant Immigration department bearing in mind applicable deadlines. The timescale on when a decision will be received will depend on the type of application being made and backlog of the decision making body. On average it may take 2- 6 weeks to get a decision from the visa officer. We shall keep you informed of the progress of your matter throughout the entire application process.
